Number 7 is a citizen’s supermarket and café based in the heart of Birkenhead. It is a not-for-profit citizens supermarket, café and advice hub.
We aim to help low-income people whose circumstances may be pushing them towards food poverty. The citizen’s supermarket is stocked with surplus stock from bigger retailers, we aim to be at least a third cheaper and, in most cases, even more. We are a a membership based organisation. Membership gains you access to the supermarket and 50% off in the cafe before 11:30am every day.
Membership
To gain membership the following criteria need to be met:
- Single-person households have an income of less than £1066 per month.
- Couples/family households to have an income of less than £1666 per month.
If you meet the criteria, please come along to Number 7 with:
- Proof of ID (Passport, driving licence, birth certificate, bank card and bus passes are accepted)
- Proof of income for the household. This must include any payments of Wages (wage slips) E.S.A, P.I.P, Tax Credits, State Pension, Pension Credits, Carers Allowance, Universal Credit, J.S.A, Child Benefits and D.L.A
Your membership application will be processed on the day you come. As long as all the evidence is provided a membership card will be issued.
