• 12 -7pm Christmas Tree takedown
• 1.30 – 3.30 pm Community Bingo and for disabled and able-bodied adults in the Centre

Saturday 9^th December

• 10.00 am Prayer breakfast at 11, Brookhurst Avenue. 
• 10.00 am Brass Cleaning in church
• 2.30pm Village hall afternoon tea

Sunday 10^th December 

• 9.15 am 1662 Holy Communion 
• 11.00 am Modern Word and worship

Advent Carol Service Sunday 3^rd December

This service of quiet reflection (no choir this year) will take place at 4pm on Sunday 3^rd December. Please bring a torch as we will be using candles and trees to light the service.

Christmas Tree Festival

Please look at the sheets at the back of Church and see where you can fill any spaces for stewarding duties. It is open until the end of Wednesday 6^th December at 8pm. For details see posters, Facebook, website or pop into The Centre. On Monday evening Santa will be in attendance. On Tuesday call in to hear a small group sing Christmas carols. We are open until 8pm Monday -Wednesday next week. 

The Village Hall afternoon tea

The Village Hall afternoon tea is on Saturday 9th December at 2.30 pm. Tickets £10 available in the Centre or from Linda Hughes, Carol Jones and Lin Longshaw Parr. 

Brass Cleaning

Next Brass cleaning Saturday 9 December 10.00 am in Church. You will have to work out whether the Lord is calling to the prayer meeting or brass cleaning! 

Feeding families project 

This is happening on Monday 11^th, Tuesday 12^th and Wednesday 13^th December in the morning. People to help with packing needed. There is a rota in church – please sign up. You don’t need to do a whole day, an hour or two is great  if that is what you have. Thanks. Helene and Jenny 

Communications and the new website

It is, for some of us at least, very exciting as we have a parish website again after many years without. You can find us at www.stbarnabasbromborough.org. If you spot any errors, then do let Andrew know communications@stbarnabasbromborough.org. You will notice that we are beginning to have email addresses that have our job role rather than our name. It will take a while to get used to that. We also need photos of some of you, so if you are asked to allow your picture to be taken it would be helpful if you say yes! Visit our site. The rota, newsletter and a calendar are all there. Encourage your friends and family to visit too as we want to have good visibility on Google. We also have a number of TikToks that you can watch through the app or via Facebook. 

Help raise cash for St Barnabas as you do your Christmas Shopping! 

Will you be buying Christmas presents online this year? If so you may well be able to raise some money for St Barnabas at the same time! How? Like this: Go to the ‘Give As You Live’ website www.giveasyoulive.com

and click on ‘log in’ or ‘register’ to create an account. Search for St Barnabas as your charity: type in ‘Barnabas’ and ‘PCC of St Barnabas, Bromborough’ will pop up for you to select. You can shop at Sainsbury’s, Tesco, John Lewis, Argos, Boots, Waitrose, the Trainline, even Screwfix! All you have to do is choose the shop from the ‘Give As You Live’ website. It takes you to the chosen shop but remembers to give the chosen charity a portion of the total you spend. A small portion admittedly, but it all adds up.

Thank you

There is so much happening at the moment, umpteem rotas, different projects….thank you from me for all you are doing whether it is on active duty in a very visible place or at home being a prayer warrior. It is deeply appreciated and all part of the call to build the kingdom of God. Jenny(Rector)

For our prayers

Please pray for all those who are finding the lead up to Christmas especially hard. Pray for those who wish they could join in with events but who are unable to through work, or family, or well-being issues. Please pray that God gives stamina to all those who are taking on extra duties. 

Jane Hunt (who is very poorly) and her brother Keith, Joseph Mills, Lesley and Clive, Maureen (who is now home), John and Barbara. Our family at home: Thelma Wiliams, Josie Davies Jack Watts and Pat Porter.  The families of the Lt. Kathleen Burkey, Barbara Pringle. Ellen Ashcroft and her family on the death of her husband and father, Peter.
